Powell vs. Belafonte, next round

(Found via Ryne Mcclaren) :   And more on this oh-so famous topic...   Right-thinking has this quote & analysis from Belafonte:

Mr. King asked Mr. Belafonte whether any of his Hollywood comrades thought he may have gone too far in slurring the secretary of state and former chairman of the joint chiefs of staff just because he happens to be [a] black man in [a] Republican administration.

No, said Mr. Belafonte, though some of his fellow Hollywooders "thought that the public was going to have a big problem because the public does not come from the same kind of a sophisticated sense of history and all the different things that I've been exposed to."

There you have it, folks. You're too stupid to be able to form your own opinions about Colin Powell because you have not been exposed to the same kind of sophisticated sense of history as Harry Belafonte...I suppose Belafonte's background as a child born in Harlem to poor Jamiacan immigrant parents may give him a little bit of authority regarding the subject of "blackness," were it not for the unfortunate fact that Powell was born into identical circumstances.

Sheesh, will this guy shut up already?   How pathetic is it that just about the only "pressworthy" thing that Belafonte has done in the last 10 yrs is criticize Powell's blackness?   The remainder of Right-Thinking's article is a well-delivered, well-deserved takedown of Belafonte vs. Powell's respective backgrounds.
