USS Clueless has a fascinating post with a guy who sent him a letter about the Mean Green Meme (MGM).   I have no idea how to summarize the article other than to say:

1. I agree with some parts of the guy who sent Stephen the letter and large parts of Stephen's response
2. I think the letter presents an intellectual structure with many insights about the post-modernist mindset and why they think they are having a hard time reaching good ole Capitalists like myself  (in a nutshell, they think they're a more advanced form of civilization ;-)  although there's a lot more nuance than that)
3. The structure also reveals some insights about the cultural friction in less developed corners of the world as they view - with a mix of awe, envy, and outright hostility - the first world.

A fun read.  And I've been doing pretty poorly at limiting my linkage to USS Clueless.   Stephen just cranks out such GREAT stuff.
