Removing Dictator Statues

Interesting post from Ross Mayfield's blog about the toppling of dictator statues.   He notes the fate of the "town square Lenin's" in formerly Soviet baltic states:

In Lithuania, the people gathered en-mass to beat it to a pulp.

In Latvia, a committee was formed and after much deliberation it was carted away.

In Estonia, someone called a Finnish crane company via cell phone and it was removed promptly.

Now, I'm the first to admit that I'm not terribly cognizant on the cultural differences between these groups  (hell, it's only in the last 2 years or so that I've learned the deep differences between Swedes, Finns, and the Danish).   But it is interesting to put on my Special Providence hat -- the Lithuanians are Jacksonian, Latvian's appear Wilsonian, and the Estonians, Hamiltonian.
