Vinod's Blog Random musings from a libertarian, tech geek... |
|
I've been oh-so-busy lately and have been neglecting my blogs for too long. So, I thought I'd just upload some of the accumulated mishmash that's been piling up on my cellphone - An enlarged headline from the SF Examiner describes - without indicting anyone but the Large Corporation - an outcome of San Francisco's economic policies. In Manhattan - the "other" Pakwan. Pakwan's is also a FAMOUS late night eatery in San Francisco's Tenderloin district that draws post party revelers from far and wide. The SF one is fantastic even if you only have a few min to indulge in a kebab or 2. I was in Hawaii a few months ago on a biz trip. I snapped this pict of the massive lava fields through which the highway to my hotel was built. The crystal blue Pacific is in the distance. A burnt roadsign at the 4th street exit off of Highway 101 in downtown SF. The CSI in me is pretty sure that in another time, a car must've smashed into the column holding up the sign and burst into flames. The sign's been torched for probably close to a year now. A random scene in a bar in New York? Life's little victory - my car's odometer turning over to 80,000 miles. This happened just a few weeks ago. I captured 67K back in October of 2003 -- hmmm... 13,000 miles in roughly 15 months. I guess I'm not that far from the national average although far far below the Bay Area one.
At my old company one of our package delivery dudes drived a horribly tricked out Ford Focus. The beast looked like it leaped out of a bad Manga comic strip. A view right around the corner from my place of the San Francisco Bay Bridge. Interesting warning sign at the Gordon Biersch Brewery. "Never Enter Bin .... Rotating augers are dangerous!" (love the visual!) A snap of a skylight in the Bellagio (?) hotel in Las Vegas taken a long time ago. ![]() |
