It's my 31st today!

In contrast to the fanfair of my 30th, this one will be quieter & spent with friends & family with the highlight being knocking off a few restaurants from my SF to-do list.   The next party that I'm throwing will be a housewarming wine & cheese gig at my new loft in South of Market rather than a DJ & Booze deal at a club in SF.   Perhaps the biggest sign I'm getting older --> I think I prefer it this way.

I had a personal training session a few days ago and the trainer casually remarked "at your age, you might want to start thinking about adding a multi-vitamin to your daily regimen."  Sheesh... why didn't she just come out and say "Geritol?" 

The big gift this year (well, in addition to the almost entirely new furniture for my loft) is a Tivo to enhance my History Channel viewing pleasure.  At my last place, the Tivo was my roommate's and I'm definitely feeling some pain not having one today.   Once you go Tivo, you never go back.  

Also interesting, the utterly quintessential San Francisco event - Bay to Breakers - is this Sunday.   The route is just 2 blocks from my place and the starting line is just 4 blocks away.   I'll be joining the throngs of San Franciscans who'll be walking the route with a drink or 2 in hand   ;-)   I'll bring my camera and snap some pix for you non-SF'ers to see what this place looks like when the Freaks *really* come out in broad daylight (and I mean that in the most loving way possible ).
