More evidence that many of us should just quit blogging and point our pages at USS Clueless.    Steven Den Beste gives us a sample of French rhetoric urging caution, avoidance of haste, and the need for several weeks of international consultation and decision making before commitment of US forces to war.

But in Paris, the french defense minister said action was not likely to take place for "several weeks."

"The decisions to take action haven't been made," Richard said. "Everyone is going to prepare their own means that will be well-adapted for a joint effort. We aren't at the end of that."

Only in this case, the rhetoric came out just 3 days before the US started bombing Afghanistan.   As they say in France, deja vu.
