Vinod's Blog Random musings from a libertarian, tech geek... |
|
I've come across a handful of nice blogs lately and in blogospheric tradition, I wanna throw out a couple shoutouts. Most of these new guys will land on my blogroll but I wanted to give them some specific attention and direct my vast readership towards them to give their blogs a whirl: Daily Ablution (http://dailyablution.blogs.com/) is published by a brit with a decidedly Pro-american sentiment (lowercase "a" = the Western values and ideals; not necessarily American). He delivers a sharp writing style with a very British tongue-in-cheek jab at current events emanating from the UK. Belmont club (Belmont Club) is a FANTASTIC military + analysis blog. Very cultured, erudite, and deeply schooled in military history and current technology. His parable of today's Eloi's and Morlocks is funny, depressing, and so true. A majority of his posts are like this one with detailed historical data interspersed with current military events (in this case, the evolution of Jihadi tactics vs. Soviet Helicopters) "TJ" is a tech entrepreneur in Germany who's in that middle ground of being a linker + thinker. Lots of links to out-of-the-way tech news & investment data occasionally interspersed with his own, short, thoughts. Gives you some flavor for what the startup scene looks like across the pond. And finally, Carl Zimmer is a science reporter who's been published in Science, NYT, Discover, and a host of other top tier rags. His blog is a survey of current topics in science backed up by Zimmer's deep background. Always educational. ![]() |
