The headline on this article reads:

Fire on Delta jet at Tampa International injures 12

So I'm thinking "fire" inside the cabin and bad 70's disaster movies.....but when you read the article, it turns out that the Fire was some quantity of unspent fuel coming out of the engine (a relatively harmless event).  And the 12 injuries were minor scrapes / bruises and twisted ankles from passengers sliding down evacuation slides.

Sheesh. Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill.  Now imagine the impression we'd all have of the safety of airline travel if these kinds of headlines were our only exposure to this.  Keep that in mind next time you read a headline from Iraq or Afghanistan.      ;-)
